The last time Andy and Jim had played together was in February 2020, a month before Covid-19 lockdown. The album 'Asynchronous' was created remotely via filesharing and as a studio creation it allowed for extended opportunities but they were keen to improvise in real time again and so a session was arranged for the last day of May 2022. They recorded just under two hours that afternoon, following their usual ethos of pure improvisation with no prior discussion save for a decision this time to work to a specific tempo on the last couple of pieces.

A few weeks later they auditioned the mixes and discussed a proposed album. They both realised that this time round they each favoured contrasting aesthetics within the UV Spectra soundworld and so each of their 'playlists' consisted of pieces almost completely exclusive from one another. The obvious solution was that there was no reason why two separate albums couldn't be compiled from the material and so (after omitting a couple of repeated pieces) here is the first.
